~AIRLINES~
We
use Continental Airlines to ship our puppies. We take care of all
arrangements. They handle all specialty shipments, especially pets, with
the greatest care and adhere to the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA) regulations. We love our puppies and entrust them to not only the
best homes but also the best transport. Puppies are shipped to the
nearest major airport that Continental uses for live animal shipments.We
search for the shortest available flight. We try to make the
arrangements 1-2 weeks in advance, if possible. We will email you the
flight arrival information (day of shipment, flight number, air bill
number and time of arrival) as soon as they have been confirmed. Flight
time, numbers and rates are subject to change without notice. If that
should happen, we will call you immediately after the puppy has been put
on the flight with the changes and all information you will need to
pick up your puppy.
We can only ship on Saturdays and Sundays.
~COST~
Shipping
for a puppy that weighs from 10-50 lbs costs from $219 to 230, plus .24
cents per lb, a security charge of $10 and a pet taxi/crate is $40. We
have to travel to Columbus Ohio , this is a 2 hour travel time, plus
time at the airport, we have had to add an additional cost of $50 to
cover our expenses. This brings the cost of shipping to approximately
$319.00 to $331.00. The cost includes: Insurance on the pup, Proper size
pet taxi/crate and a health certificate. .(kennels are available for
pups being shipped only). We try to keep the cost as low as possible for
those of you interested in shipping. Your puppy will
travel with food and water bowls, a chew toy and a blanket with the
scent of its mother and litter mates to give the pup a sense of
well-being and security. Puppies cannot be shipped before they are 8
weeks old, they will be health checked no more than 10 days before
flying.
Another option, which is one I prefer, is to book a round trip flight to Columbus and
take your puppy home as a carry on, this saves the puppy a lot of
unneeded stress. I would meet you at the airport with your puppy and you
could hop the next flight back home.
